Process of making Areca Palm Leaf Plate
Areca palm Plates are made up of a Natural Areca pam leaf. Areca leaf plates are biodegradable, compostable, 100% natural, oven-safe, water-resistant, and can serve both hot & cold liquids, freezer safe, and do not cause any change to the food or liquid.
The manufacturing process of Areca palm leaf plates is quite easy. The steps involved in the making of Areca palm leaf plates are

1. Plant Areca palm tree:
In an empty space plant areca trees by digging up to 20 inches and water it regularly. The best time to plant areca trees is in spring and summer it is the best growing season. Germination takes about six weeks under the best conditions. It can be grown well in sun too. The natural lifespan of about 15 years.
2. Collect the Naturally fallen leaves:
The leaf sheath falls down from a tree should be collected. One gives four to five leaves to earth and its length about 1m and weights 250 to 300 grams.
3. Drying the Leaves:
Collect and store the leaves in separate places. The leaves should be dried in the open sun for about 3-6 months. Now a lot of new technology arrived to minimize our drying time.
4. Cleaning process:
Once the drying process is completed the leaf sheaths will be cleaned in water to remove dust and dirt in it. The water will be sprayed with high-pressure air and sometimes cleaned manually in hands. The cleaning process gives more flexibility to leaf sheaths.
5. Pressed into the shapes:
By using a certain level of external energy the leaves will be pressed in a required amount of pressure. The shapes and sizes are customized and pre-designed as per customer needs. The heat level, pressure level, moisture level(above 5%) should be maintained for proper output.
6. Testing:
The quality of the plates will be checked before selling. It should be safe while in contact with food and should not be affected by bacteria, viruses, or fungus the material.
7. Packing plates:
Areca Plates should be arranged as per their size and wrapped in plastic sheets. This ensures the hygiene and quality of the plates. Make sure while this process the plates should be dry and clean.
8. Leftovers used as Manure:
The remaining cut leaf sheaths will be used as manure for plant and tree growth.
The entire manufacturing process follows COVID-19 measure as per Government Guidelines.
